Sony bumps Killzone: Mercenary release date up to Sept. 10

Killzone: Mercenary will release a week sooner than previously announced. The PS Vita shooter circle strafed from September 17 to September 10 (or September 6 in the U.K.), Sony revealed on its PlayStation Blog today.

That's the kind of release date change we like to hear about, but why would Sony bother? It didn't say, but GTA 5 coming out on the old date may have had something to do with it.

If you want to castrate some Helghast on the go before losing yourself in Los Santos, pre-order bonuses include a multiplayer XP boost, extra single-player starting cash, and an exclusive machine gun for both modes.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC version confirmed

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is coming to PC. Series creator Hideo Kojima revealed the news in his weekly Hideradio podcast, which was then confirmed by Platinum Games Creative Producer JP Kellams in a tweet (via Joystiq).

The Metal Gear series is no stranger to PC--it got its start on Japanese computer platform MSX2, and later games have received intermittent ports. If MGR hits PC in the same year as its February release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, it would be the fastest turnaround yet.

Kojima and Kellams provided no details on extras nor a release window, so cool those nanomachines for now.
