First new Smash Bros. footage coming in June 11 Nintendo Direct

The new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will be revealed to the world in video form on June 11. Nintendo already announced the future of the fighting series would be "discussed" during its next Nintendo Direct, but series designer Masahiro Sakurai tweeted earlier today that we'll get our first look at it, too.

Kotaku translated the message if your Japanese is a bit rusty: "Notice: On the June 11th 11PM Nintendo Direct, the first footage of the new Smash Bros will be aired for the first time. For the first time, simultaneously worldwide! Don't miss it."

(That date and time is referring to the Japanese edition, of course. The U.S. and U.K. versions will air at 7 a.m. PST/3 p.m. BST.)

Nintendo's made each Smash Bros. release into a once-in-a-generation event since the series debuted on N64. What do you want to see in the next franchise-crossing beat down?

X2: Wolverine's Revenge

Game Cheats:
Defeating Sabretooth:
When fighting Sabretooth for the second time, at first it is the same as before. Jump behind him and use your special to throw him into the trucks. After a few throws, he will jump behind the flames and start throwing barrels. Punch them back at him. When he is done with that, he will come back out and start jumping around. When he is in the air, a green crosshair will appear on the ground. Run to it and use your special to defeat him.

Defeating Wendigo:
Wait for him to stop chasing you, then run behind him. Hit him once or twice, then option for your special will appear. When you use your special, you will grab his tail. Spin him around and toss him. After several tosses, he will stand weak in the middle. Run up to him and use your special.

Act 1 part 1:
After crossing the mine field there is a better way than tackling the guard who
runs to set the alarm on.Just go to hieghtened sense, and enter the room, they won't be able to realise that you have entered the room.Continue being in hieghtened sense.Go behind the gurd who runs to set the alarm. Then strike will appear. Stealth strike him. Then the other will'nt try to set the alarm. He will try to fight with you and you know it's easy to kill him.

Cheat mode:

Note: This code must be entered with the default keyboard key settings or it will not work. Press [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Punch] [Crouch] [Senses] at the main menu. The sound of a click will confirm correct code entry. Then, press the following [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Punch] [Senses] [Crouch].

You will hear two clicks. After the second click, the "Level Select" options
should now appear instead of the "Continue" option at the main menu. Also, a cheat menu that includes an "Invincibility" option will appear when game play is paused.

This unlocks everything except the Strikes.

Master code:
Note: This code must be entered with the default keyboard key settings or it will not work. Press Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Punch] [Crouch] [Senses] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Punch] [Senses] [Punch] [Punch] [Crouch] at the main menu.

Defeating Juggernaut:
In the first part, lure him into the actual poles of the fence. When he flies away and lands dazed, attack him from side and watch for the "Strike" message to appear. Later when he starts jumping, jump to avoid the shockwave and try to get him to jump into the electric beams. He is weak after he jumps. He will stand and send a series of shockwaves. Also jump over these. If he is on one side of the "ring", run to the other side to avoid them. Watch out for the gas. When his health is gone, you must to finish him with a strike. Note: Beware of gas and watch your bar for your sickness level.

Defeating Magneto:
In Act V: Part I, you will not always be able to destroy the generators. However, after he is done, he will create a magnetic vortex of death. Go to where the fuse box was that would not work on the roof and hit it. A trap door will fall down and a possible "Strike: attack message will appear. Go through the first door and to your left to find a switch (Animal Senses may help). Another door will open. Go through it. When people appear, go neat the vortex. Debris will fly, but try not to get hit. Have them die near the vortex. That is the only way to stop the vortex.

Defeating Wendigo:
Wait for him to stop chasing you, then run behind him. Hit him once or twice, then option for your special will appear. When you use your special, you will grab his tail. Spin him around and toss him. After several tosses, he will stand weak in the middle. Run up to him and use your special.

Increase feral rage:
To increase Wolverine's feral rage, retract your claws and just punch the guard.
On Rebirth Part 2 Below Ground, when you enter where the trucks are located, there will be an electrical wire that is snapped in two. Go next to it to increase your feral rage at an extremely fast rate.

Get magnet brains without Claw Dive:
Use this trick if you cannot perform a Claw Dive in the Magneto fight. Get angry if possible, but only when he is at the super magnet platform. Keep doing this and he will soon go down. If you cannot get him there, wait on the catwalks just in front of it. Only attack when he looks frozen (or crystallized).

Best approach and attack:
When scouting for enemies use Wolverine's heightened senses. Once you have spotted an enemy, make sure you are close enough to see them clearly, but not be spotted. If you watch them for a few moments in heightened senses mode, a faint hazy figure of Wolverine will demonstrate the best approach and attack.

Comic book locations:

1: Act 1 Part 1, terminal room
2: Act 1 Part 2, through the flaming truck
3: Act 2 Part 1, inside lift control room
4: Act 2 Part 2, in the left starter room with the barrel
5: Act 3 Part 3, in the bottom of the circular room
6: Act 4 Part 2, behind first pillar
7: Available from the start

SpiderMan cameo:
Enable "All FMV sequences" cheat. Check the movies gallery and scroll down to the bottom of the screen to find a SpiderMan sequence.

Star Wars reference:
Wolverine's voice is done by Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker. For the Juggernaut battle, he fights a man with ultra psychic powers wearing a helmet. Juggernaut uses the word "Force" every other line.

Sony plans to showcase over 40 games at E3

Sony is planning to showcase over 40 games across PS4, PS3 and Vita at E3 next week, according to a PlayStation Blog post. The platform holder will kick off proceedings with its press conference, which will be livestreamed from Monday June 10 in the US at 5:30pm Pacific/8:30pm Eastern (that’s Tuesday morning in Europe at 1.30am BST/2.30am CET). Perhaps most interestingly, we’ll find out more about PS4 and actually get to see the hardware itself, if a recent teaser video is anything to go by.

Following its conference, Sony plans to run special livestreamed events for three days, with each show featuring a mixture of gameplay demos and developer interviews for upcoming titles. The company said to expect to see the likes of Destiny, Beyond: Two Souls, DriveClub, The Evil Within, Gran Turismo 6, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Tearaway, plus “many, many more”. A teaser trailer for the conference can be viewed above.

PlayStation LiveCast shows

Tuesday 11th June: PlayStation LiveCast show - 8.00pm/9.00pm to 2.00am/3.00am/12pm to 6pm Pacific Time Wednesday 12th June: PlayStation LiveCast show – 6.00pm/7.00pm to 2.00am/3.00am/10pm to 6pm Pacific Time Thursday 13th June: PlayStation LiveCast show 6.00pm/7.00pm to 2.00am/3.00am/10pm to 6pm Pacific Time

After TV and wider entertainment capabilities dominated Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal event last month, the company has said E3 will be all about the games. We recently recounted the history of E3 and listed our top 7 painfully uncomfortable moments from past E3 pressers.

Nintendo has no plans to stop selling Wii U Basic packages, despite recall notices allegedly given to GameStop employees. Nintendo said it is making supply adjustments to balance the $300 package with its $350 Deluxe counterpart in a statement to Polygon.

"There is a current misperception about Wii U hardware," a Nintendo representative said. "To clarify: Nintendo is working with its retail partners to simply rebalance the stock of the White 8GB and the Black 32GB Wii U models in the market. Consumers looking for either model will continue to find them available."

Previous reports indicated GameStop would on June 18 cease selling the 8 GB white Basic version. If that is indeed the case, it's not Nintendo's doing.

A 32 GB white system was recently announced in Japan. We'll find out more about Nintendo's worldwide plans for the system in its E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11.

The Wii did well because it was priced at £180 but the Wii U is still £200 plus (significantly more than £200 for the deluxe). Once you break that £200 barrier your product is seen as much more expensive. Even if they just put it at £199.99 they would sell like hotcakes and then developers would want to buy one. Nintendo should take the hit in the short term (we all know they have the cash to do so) and really encourage people to buy a Wii U. There are next to no games that make the Wii U worth buying so the only thing they can do is drop the price. Reply Report

I think anyone who was ever going to buy a Wii U has. Their previous leading demographics are now content with the Wii still, and has no real plans to upgrade. Even with a price drop, I doubt it would work since the Xbox One and PS4 are now about to take the stage and pretty much making the Wii U obsolete. Mind you that I hate the Xbox One so far and I'm very skeptical on the PS4, but even if they both somehow managed to fail in my eyes, saving up for a PC would be better than to sucum to a console that really had no chance to begin with. 8GB model is kinda...small but if people don't want to download games it's a perfectly viable option. But you just get so much more for spending an extra £50 or $50 (conversion rates forever sucking from $ to £...). Would maybe make sense to discontinue production but i guess so long as the majority is deluxe it's fine. I still don't think it needs a massive price drop though. The consoles price is fine. I think its probably over for the Wii U. Reply Report

You must be crazy if you think it doomsday for anything that has been out less then a year, heck if we went by that logic both PS3 and Vita would have died very early but 8 months is not long enough to say its over for something, heck at the moment wiiu has more cool stuff then the PS4 or Xbone planned for it. I just can't be enthusiatic about what Nintendo has lined up, because we have come to know of Nintendo's go to move. For them when the chips are down it is back to a (Zelda) drawing board. Reply Report

Tjwoods18 - 20 hours, 57 minutes ago

Maybe if they would get off their butts and completely release every popular gameboy/advanced title that ever came out, then I would consider the Wii U a success. Reply Report

BladedFalcon - 20 hours, 33 minutes ago

The Virtual Boy died pretty much in a year or less... And of course, people saw it's demise coming way before that. Reply Report

Cyberninja - 20 hours, 7 minutes ago

Well but the Virtual Boy was fundamentally flawed because it caused sickness and it was pretty much just a system that was supposed to lessen the wait for the N64. The WiiU like it or not is a full system and it is getting on going support, which goes a long way in keeping a system alive even if it is only from core Nintendo games, because once the new 3D mario, Mario Kart and Smash Bros hit no one will be calling doom again, and then we have the new sonic, Bayonetta and Wonderful 101, as well as any surprises we may learn about at E3. Also at this point people are calling everyone's demise for everything, like people are already saying the Xbone is going to take Microsoft out the console race. Reply Report

Cyberninja - 20 hours, 5 minutes ago

Well that's true but at the very least the 3DS eshop does show they are willing to try new stuff out through digital media, so its a start. Reply Report

I just clarified to you that there ARE systems that are deemed failures in a year or less. Considering you said to the guy that he was crazy to cry "doomsday" on anything in that short period :PAnd well- yes, the Wii U is a full system, but you always fail to acknowledge that it's undeniably behind with the other two in terms of technology. And no matter how much say it doesn't matter and whatever, the Wii U still feels to most people as a catch up to the 360 and PS3's specs than a full fledged consoles.Regarding the games, well, yes, the people that are interested only in the nintendo games will probably be stated on those games you mentioned come out. But it's also clearly that when it comes to third party development, Nintendo is once again being left behind almost completely. Even nowadays most third party developers don't bother making games for it save for ubisoft.Of course, there's always a chance we could be wrong. After the 3DS took a while to pick up steam, and now look at it. (Which, btw, doesn't have the issue the Wii U has, the system boasts a pretty mix of first and third party games.) Then again, the 3DS never ad to compete against TWO other companies with significantly more advanced hardware at the same time, which is why I still think that the Wii U, if not outright fail, it's definitely going to become a very niche system that'll be worth playing for it's exclusives, but not much else. Then again... If both the Xbone AND the PS4 end up adopting all that restrictive DRM bullshit, it would certainly be to Nintendo's benefit. So we'll see at E3 I suppose. Reply Report

--they need to do a serious price drop (150$ for the white and 200$ for the black) --actually they shoulda gone ahead and dropped the price earlier this year--then they woulda had momentum going into the holidays--instead?--wiiU isnt ever gonna get out of its slump--and will become an after thought by the time XB1 & PS4 get good and launched Reply Report

Demon_Krauser - June 5, 2013 1:56 p.m.

They should just recall them. When I go in to work and someone wants a Wii U they always go for the deluxe. A much better deal because of 4x the memory and a game Reply Report

Nazis win in Wolfenstein: The New Order trailer

Wolfenstein: The New Order lets the Nazis win. Only for a while, of course--just until Greatest Generation Poster Child B.J. Blaskowicz wakes up from his coma in 1960--but it's long enough for them to take over the U.S. The new trailer below shows America on its knees as the Third Reich soars to cultural and technological domination.

The last big shooter that tried to goad us into a xenophobic rage with scenes of conquered Main Street overplayed its hand. Fortunately, given our recent preview, this grim alternate reality is given some unexpected levity by a one-liner-quipping Blaskowicz.

The New Order begins on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, in the fourth quarter of 2013. We'll see more at E3 next week.

What is hiberfil.sys and How Do I Delete It?

Have you ever came across a huge file sitting in the root directory of your computer’s hard drive named hiberfil.sys? And even worse, maybe wanting to delete hiberfil.sys but were unable to with an error message popping up that the file was locked down by Windows. Well, here we will show you how this file can be removed from your computer’s hard drive and free up some space.

The file hiberfil.sys is used by Windows for it’s hibernation power state. How this works is your computer’s memory state will be written to the file and then shut down. The battery can even be removed if it is a laptop and put back in. Once you turn the computer back on, it will resume right back to the state it was in previously, without having to wait for long boot up times. The more memory, or RAM you computer has, the larger hiberfil.sys will be. In our case, we have 16 GB of RAM installed and the hiberfil.sys file was 12.70 GB in size. Of course if you take advantage of hibernate mode, you will not want to remove this file, but for those of us that do not use hibernate, it is just wasting space on our machines.

hiberfil.sys

Another power management mode in contrast to Hibernate, is Sleep Mode. This keeps the computer in a low power state, which will return to normal in a very short amount of time after moving the mouse our pushing a key on the keyboard. This is what I use on my desktop as it needs to be turned on all the time for access from remote locations.
