Harmonix will announce a new game tomorrow, but it's probably not what you think:

The rhythm game developer is expanding its wheelhouse, but it's kept quiet about its new efforts so far. The only clue we have is an August job listing for a combat designer from the company, who would "design and tune combat skills and abilities; overseeing creation of robust combat AI systems for minor and major combat encounters."

That position may or may not be for the game in question, but fighting with fists/guns/lasers instead of plastic instruments or jaunty dance moves would be a change of pace for the studio (if not the industry).

Speculation: A Kinect based fighting game of some sort.Sounds underwhelming I know, but if any dev can pull it off it's Harmonix. The Dance Central series was glorious. Reply Report

BladedFalcon - 14 hours, 36 minutes ago

I somehow doubt they would make a game that wasn't music or dancing related. I mean, it's even in the name! XDUnless of course, you're talking about a rhythm based fighting game... Which if "The way of the Dogg" is anything to go by, it might not be such a good genre to mix up :P Reply Report

Temperance11 - 3 hours, 22 minutes ago

True enough, I guess I forgot "Music Systems" is the second part of their name. But again, if any dev could pull of a rhythm-based fighting game its Harmonix. Reply Report

Oh hey, they announced it already. I was completely wrong... Reply Report

Dark Souls II coming March 2014

Dark Souls II is set for release in March 2014. Publisher Namco Bandai confirmed the launch window to Eurogamer after it appeared on a banner advert for the From Software developed game photographed outside the LA Convention Centre, where next week's E3 will take place. The title is currently slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with no Xbox One or PS4 editions announced.

First revealed in December 2012, the action RPG sequel will feature a new hero, a fresh storyline and an “unfamiliar world” for players to survive in, plus a revamped server-based multiplayer component that promises to “put a distinct Dark Souls II twist on the concept of playing and sharing with others”. In April, one of the series’ new directors largely allayed early concerns we had that the game might shift away from the unrelenting challenges that were the hallmark of the original, which has sold more than 2.3 million copies. Read everything we know about Dark Souls II.

Beyond: Two Souls UK release date confirmed

Sony has confirmed a Beyond: Two Souls release date of October 11 in the UK. Quantic Dream’s PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain follow-up is billed as a psychological action thriller covering 15 years in the life of protagonist Jodie Holmes (played by Ellen Page), who possesses supernatural powers through a psychic link to an invisible entity.

In early March, Sony announced a Beyond: Two Souls release date of October 8, 2013 in North America and simply October in Europe. At the same time, the company revealed that Willem Dafoe would co-star in the game alongside fellow Oscar nominee Page, plus details of a special edition and pre-order bonuses.

Later that month, we published a spoiler-free Beyond: Two Souls preview, in which we said: “We were completely absorbed by Beyond's strange cocktail of film-watching and game playing. The best stories stay with you long after they’re told and it’s already doing that. You’re either ‘in’ or you’re not when it comes to Quantic Dream games. Based on what we’ve just seen, we’re definitely in.”

In January, it emerged that Quantic Dream had registered a domain for singularityps4.com, hinting at what may be next for the studio. And in April, job adverts revealed the studio was looking for a lead online programmer with experience in AAA multiplayer, indicating that the solitary-narrative-pushing developer may be looking to expand its horizons.

DmC: Devil May Cry

Game Cheats:
Easy Red Orbs:
Start Mission 8: Eyeless on any difficulty. Make sure you have a Copper key so you can enter the Taste Of Heaven secret mission. The secret mission door is located on the right side of the long hall that appears after using Demon Pull on a wall. Look at the right wall of the new path for blue vines blocking the entrance. Use the Aquila or Osiris with the Double Up ability to get through the vines. Immediately before completing the secret mission, pause the game, and restart from the checkpoint. You will get a lot of Red Orbs for completing most of it, and keep the Red Orbs you earned even if you restart it. Keep playing the secret mission, and restarting it before completing it to earn as
many Red Orbs as desired. You can get a few thousand Red Orbs every few minutes.

Note: This trick requires that the Heaven Or Hell difficulty is unlocked. This mode makes it so every hit is an instant kill against enemies. Start Mission 10: Bad News. Reach the battle with Bob Barbas. Once you get his health down a certain amount, you must jump into his eye. You will then enter a news screen where the camera angle is ahelicopter. Simply shoot the enemies until Bob says "Unholy Kind", then pause the game, and restart from the checkpoint. Repeat this as many times as desired to get a lot of Red Orbs. Naughty Dog unveils The Last of Us multiplayer

Not quite two weeks before The Last of Us is due to release, Naughty Dog finally gave several press outlets a tour of the game's multiplayer mode. It looks a lot like a stealthier, craftier version of Uncharted's multiplayer, with a loose narrative attached to provide goals between matches, according to Push Square.

Players must create a character to get started in multiplayer and choose from a variety of appearances, unlockable apparel, and either the Fireflies or Hunters faction. Then they can jump into 4v4 matches against the opposing group.

Characters can crawl, sneak, and listen just like in the campaign. Non-traditional weaponry like molotov cocktails or nailbombs must be crafted from materials found in caches across the map, and ammunition is always scarce. Improved senses and deadly weaponry make each match slower and more nerve-wracking than Uncharted's high-flying brawls.

It wouldn't be a modern console shooter without all kinds of persistence, so on top of upgrading weapons and armor mid-match, players must take home supplies to provide for a growing camp of survivors. Each multiplayer match represents one day of a twelve-week campaign, in which you'll have to provide for the group through supplies and multi-match challenges as best you can.

Stay tuned to GamesRadar for our full review of The Last of Us coming soon.

Grid 2 7950 Crossfire Benchmark

Today we gave a newly released game from Codemasters a try to see how it performed on our 2013 computer build. Grid 2 was released on May 27 of last week and falls into the racing genre.

As taken from the Grid 2 Steam page:

The race comes alive with GRID 2’s TrueFeel™ Handling system for edge-of-control exhilarationProve yourself against advanced AI in aggressive, blockbuster races packed with wow momentsBlaze your way to the top of a new world of motorsportAn extensive and separate online campaign redefines multiplayer racing games plus full RaceNet integrationPowered by Codemasters’ EGO Game Technology Platform for jaw-dropping damage and stunning visuals, GRID 2 sets the standard for technical excellent in racing.Race a handpicked selection of iconic cars that represent the best in automotive engineering from the last 40 yearsTake on challenging licensed tracks, stunningly realised city streets and lethal mountain roadsProve yourself by entering and winning events across three continentsRace Immersion Technology immerses you in the race like never beforeThe long-awaited sequel to the BAFTA-winning, multi-million selling Race Driver: GRID

We put this racing game to the test with our Intel 3770K and 2-way Crossfire X Radeon HD 7950s.

Full system specifications consist of:

Intel i7 3770K (4.6GHz)Asus Maximus V FormulaG. Skill Sniper 16GB DDR3-1866Two Gigabyte Windforce Radeon HD 7950s for crossfire (1100 MHz on both cores/ 5000 MHz on the memory)Corsair H100i all-in-one liquid coolerXFX Pro Black Edition 860 watt powerTwo OCZ Vector 128GB SSDs for RAID 0Two Seagate Barracuda 3. 0TB mechanical hard disks1 .0 TB Western Digital Green mechanical hard disk driveNZXT Switch 810 chassisCatalyst 13.5 BetaWindows 8 64

As was expected, Crossfire X was not taken advantage of and only a single Radeon HD 7950 was actually put to use during gameplay. It is also worth noting that our power draw was only around 285 watts from the wall, which is a red flag right there that only a partial amount of system resources are being utilized. Under a very demanding game, such as Crysis 3, we saw around 500-550 watts being drawn most of the time from the wall socket.

Min/Max/Avg FPS Min/Max/Avg FPS

We used Fraps for 240 seconds to record out framerates. With all settings at their maximum levels and 1920X1080 resolution, we recorded a minimum FPS of only 47. The maximum framerate shot up to 251 at one point through out our run. The average FPS observed came in at 90 which is very good, especially only for part of the system being utilized. Anything over 60 FPS in our opinion is really just for bragging rights, unless you have superhuman eyesight or are playing in 3D.

The game is very pleasing to look at on maximum settings. Gameplay is very good as well and the handling has a great feel to it, with what is called the TrueFeel™ Handling system.
