Game-starved Wii U owners got some good news last week when Call of Duty: Ghosts' executive producer seemed to indicate the game was coming to Nintendo's system. Unfortunately, Mark Rubin says the conclusions were drawn more from his poor phrasing than actual intent.
"It's probably in the next-gen bin, but we're not actually talking about Wii U yet because we want to keep it mysterious. It's PR guys, it's not my fault," Rubin said in a GameSpot E3 stage show.
Rubin told GamesIndustry International that he doesn't actually know whether Ghosts is coming to Wii U or not. He did say a Wii U version could perform comparably with Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, and perhaps look a bit better, assuming it actually happens.
"I was trying to say in the interview [that] I really don't know and I'm not supposed to talk about it," Rubin said. "I'm not supposed to talk about the fact that I don't know."
It looks like Ghosts on Wii U is back to, as Donald Rumsfeld would call it, a known unknown.

It proably would not have worked with Nintendo's E for everyone style anyway. I realize they have Zombie U, but they really don't have a lot of mature titles in comparison to other major consoles Reply Report

Nintendo doesn't need this game. They own the Nintenden-dogs franchise. Reply Report

First Ubisoft and EA bail, now Activision? Things keep looking worse for the Wii U, especially considering that the original Wii and DS both supported crappy versions of CoD. Reply Report

--all versions of COD are "crappy"--dont blame that on nintendo Reply Report

well here's the good side: it would have been weird to play this game on the Wii U in the first place. Reply Report

oh and i mean i don't wanna have to manually move at all, shields/ducking,bombs, and switching weapons okay but not necessary and i don't want any control on the movement(not even turning) Reply Report

The right answer is does it matter? I doubt there will be any differences in content between the versions, only graphical differences Reply Report
talleyXIV - 15 hours, 55 minutes ago
And it won't even be different graphics since it is being released on the 360 and PS3, Wii U's graphics are the same as those. Reply Report

Well I think it would be an improvement on Wiiu since they are considering it for next gen. Reply Report

Usually I enjoy you and your wonky writing style but that just doesn't make any sense at all. Reply Report

--i was responding to cyberninja--he said that a 360/ps3 COD "should" look better on a wiiU than a 360/ps3--he said this was because wiiU is "actually" a next gen console--i was saying that "being" a next gen console--doesnt automatically make a console capable of anything--it takes POWER--wiiU has GOOD power(good power for a 7th gen console) Reply ReportShowing 1-14 of 14 comments
