Twisted Pixel’s LocoCycle is an Xbox One launch game

Twisted Pixel is making an Xbox One version of LocoCycle. The studio behind 'Splosion Man and The Gunstringer said its upcoming downloadable game will be playable at E3 next week and will be released as a Xbox One launch title later this year.

LocoCycle was originally announced as an Xbox 360 game and that version is still in development too. However, the Xbox One version will take advantage of Microsoft’s new console by running in full 1080p at a solid 60 frames per second “in addition to countless other graphical improvements”. Shown for the first time at the Penny Arcade Expo 2012, Lococycle seems to be about an artificial intelligence gaining its soul. Blending comedy, car combat and acrobatic martial arts, it tells the story of a killer robot motorcycle built to be the ultimate superspy that’s decided to escape her creator's clutches. Twisted Pixel, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2011, said today: “We’ve always wanted to make a launch title for a new system but haven’t had the chance until now,” the studio said. “It’s a pretty cool feeling to know that there will be kids who open up their Xbox One and lose their minds with excitement then get blown away by the first few games they load up, including LocoCycle.”
