When Xbox One comes to E3 on June 10, TVs will still take center stage. But instead of cable programming and Skype calls, those TVs will be there to show video games.

Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb took to Twitter to confirm what many gamers already hoped was the case about the continued roll-out of Xbox One details.

PS4 games were at the center of Sony's reveal event, but its other entertainment features are still largely unexplored. We'll see how Sony and Microsoft wrangle consumer expectations for their respective consoles very soon.

The Reveal for the One was a shambles; firstly, MS may well have been aiming for a mainstream audience, but the vast majority of those that watched were (disappointed!) gamers and the media, not the general public that they were aiming for. Secondly, the presentation was very American centric and so much of the Reveal meant little to anyone outside of the US as they would not benefit from what was being shown. Having failed to answer many of the significant concerns of those gamers that have made the brand successful in the first place, MS have now had to openly state that E3 will be about games(!) The Reveal has been somewhat of a PR failure because MS having caused a furore have failed to quell the fears, and it is just possible that a handful of exclusives (of which the PS4 will have just as many) may not be enough to quieten the rumblings of discontent. Does it matter? Not talking about TV isn't going to mean that the investment in TV features is going away. They just won't talk much about TV... It's honestly insulting at this point. It's like your wife coming home from blowing through all your savings and 401k on a shopping spree and then thinking, "Hey, I'll just wiggle my booty in front of him and he'll forget all about it." Are we that cheap, that showing off a few games will make this load of donkey doo smell nice all of a sudden? How about, "We are going to show you that we were wrong to try and force all this crap on consumers. We are cancelling used game fees, and Kinect can be turned off, and no more daily phone home crap." Reply Report

Let's see if these chumps can win our favor back with their conference. They'll need to show some of the best looking exclusives the video game industry has ever seen if they want to top Sony. Which I'll doubt they'll do, since the hardcore gamer audience isn't their focus anymore. Their show will mostly be about Kinect 2, and how it actually works this time. It doesn't really matter to me though. I'll never touch an Xbox One as long as you have to pay $60 a year to play online, as well as all the other bullshit Microsoft thinks they can get away with. This. No matter how good the games are I cannot buy it because I don't want to encourage MSwwith ttheir anti consumer policies. For principle alone, I won't contribute to the deterioration of console gaming Reply Report

Cool cool, now all they have to do is get rid of this DMR patent, mandatory kinect, allow some form of backwards compatibility, and make Xbox Live free, then everything will be right as rain :) Looks like everything's coming up Milhouse! Reply Report

Okay, so they're not talking about TV, they said nothing about sports, Call of Duty, Kinect, or sales numbers however...I mean, a 100% game focused e3 conference would be lovely, but so far, Microsoft (or any of the big 3 for that matter...)has been unable to pull it off. So you'll forgive me if I remain skeptical. Reply Report

"Yes, our video game console plays video games! It can play all these sports games! And Call of Duty! And as a bonus, here's Killer Instinct 3, which we tried so hard to keep secret! Yes, 'hardcore' gamers will love us for this, despite us not having ANY of the original developers to work on it and it's in no way going to be as good as the original! So ...can we talk about TV again now?" To be fair, Killer Instinct has a shot if they dont screw it up. Its pretty obvious its gonna be the "Historic" Series Rare will bring at E3 but yeah pretty much, Grant Kirkhope and others arent in Rare anymore. Reply Report
